Nurse Aide Training Program
To be accepted into St. Luke’s Ministry Nurse Aide Training Program an applicant must:
- Show a history of successful work experience (strong preference given to those with paid senior care-giving experience)
- Have good study habits (note: a high school diploma or GED is not required)
- Be able to speak, read and write English proficiently (an English test may be required)
- Pass a criminal background check
- Have reliable transportation to the training class and the clinical site
- Have childcare arranged (if applicable) for the three-week training class
- Be physically fit and able to lift over 30 pounds
Note: There is a strong demand for our Nurse Aide Training Program. Very strong preference is given to those with paid senior care-giving experience, such as assisted living or home healthcare, or to those who have completed most of their science pre-requisites for nursing school.
Immigrant Support Program
Applicants to St. Luke’s Ministry Immigrant Support Program must:
- Be able to speak, read and write English proficiently (an English test may be required)
- Have good study habits (a high school diploma or GED is not required)
- Have reliable transportation to the training class and/or support modules
Graduates from Other Programs
Graduates from other Nurse Aide training programs interested in participating in either our Skills Practice Workshops or Written-Exam Preparation Classes must show:
- Successful completion of a state-approved Nurse Aide training program
- Be able to speak, read and write English proficiently (an English test may be required)
- Ability to commit to attending the additional support modules needed to pass the certification exam
- Reliable transportation to participate in the support modules
