graduates from other programs

We offer many support services to Graduates from Other Programs who have failed either the skills or written portions of their state-certification exam, or would like extra help in preparing for either exam.  We offer two programs for Graduates from Other Programs:

  • Skills Practice Workshops.  As part of the certification exam, graduates must demonstrate their hands-on skills in response to written and oral instructions.  We offer graduates multiple opportunities to practice their Nurse Aide skills under direct supervision and multiple opportunities to practice simulated tests.  Each Skills Practice Workshop lasts between 1½ and 2 hours, and practice session size is limited to 3 trainees per skills supervisor.  This additional skills practice is particularly helpful for Graduates from Other Programs who had only limited opportunities to practice their skills under direct supervision.
  • Written Exam Preparation Classes.  Graduates from Other Programs who wish additional help to review training course content and/or practice their test taking skills can choose to participate in one or more of the following:
    • otherprogramsStandard Track Classes (on-going):  Includes nurse aide textbook chapter quizzes, basic nursing skills content review, practice final exams and nurse aide vocabulary exercises.
    • Advanced Oral Exam Preparation Classes (on-going):  Includes practice oral final exams and vocabulary exercises to help prepare students for the oral exam option of the CNA certification written exam.
    • Self-paced Internet Practice Exams:  Graduates access online Nurse Aide exam tutorials which provide them with immediate feedback as they answer sample exam questions.  At the end of each tutorial, they receive their score and a summary of the vocabulary words and key concepts they need to study further.
