frequently asked questions

How much does your program cost?

Total cost is around $1045, including $900 for tuition, $95 for the state Board exam fee, $20 for the textbook, and $30 for an optional CPR class (if you would like to take it).  You also need a current TB test; if you don’t have one, some Walgreen stores offer TB skin tests for $28.

How long is your program?

The formal class is 3 weeks long.  We offer the state CNA certification exam at our facility, usually 3 weeks after graduation.  Graduates should plan to attend at least 4 additional skills practice workshops during the 3-week period between graduation and the certification exam.

Who is eligible for your program?

We have a relatively small training program, with a maximum of 15 students accepted into each class.  We often receive more than 100 calls for each class.  Due to the strong demand for our program, we give the highest preference to those who:  1) have paid experience as senior care-givers (in an assisted living facility or as a home health aide, for example), or 2) have completed most of their science pre-requisites for nursing school.

Usually applicants with current or recent paid experience in senior care-giving, or students who have completed most of their science pre-requisites for nursing school, end up being selected for our classes.

Do you offer night classes?

Classes are only offered during the daytime; most days are from 8:30 a.m. – 1:45 p.m.
